I asked the members of the Intentional Reading Panel which books made the greatest impact on their business or life. Here’s Mike Figliuolo’s answer.

The books that have made the greatest impact on my business life are Perspective on McKinsey by Marvin Bower and The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday.

Bower’s work gave me insight into what it takes to build and run a world-class consulting firm. His thoughts are foundational for anyone aspiring to deliver world class client service and build a firm that is enduring. The principles he espouses on culture, client service, and working with distinctive people have fundamentally shaped the way I have built and run my firm thoughtLEADERS.

Holiday’s work helped me understand stoicism at a practical level and appreciate how I’m a stoic at heart. The methods he endorses put structure to the age-old question of how to be resilient and overcome challenges.

That’s Mike Figliuolo’s list of the books that have had the greatest impact on his life. What books are on your list?
