I guess you could say that I’m reading Loonshots: How to Nurture the Crazy Ideas That Win Wars, Cure Diseases, And Transform Industries because of the HBR Ideacast. They interviewed Loon Shots author, Safi Bahcall, in March 2019.
The author described a concept from chemistry called phase transitions. He used it to explain why a company can suddenly go from successful to not successful. The other thing that enticed me was the promise of lots of first-rate business stories.
I went to 1-800-CEOREAD and to Amazon to see what the reviewers had to say. There were 82 reviews on Amazon. One of them was a one-star. The reviewer said not to read the book because he thought Bahcall was an ineffective and dishonest CEO. There were two four-star reviews. All the rest, 79 reviews, were five-star. That was enough for me. I clicked the Buy button, and now, I’m reading Loonshots.
If you’ve read Loonshots, tell me what you think. And, if you haven’t read the book but you have questions you’d like it to answer, let me know.
