Breaks help you stay fresh and deliver more of your highest quality work. They help you keep your mental balance. Dr. Ernest Lawrence Rossi, who studies what are called “ultradian rhythms”, found that human beings naturally fall into a pattern of needing a break after 90 to 120 minutes of work. Rossi recommends a break of 15 to 20 minutes before beginning the next work period.

What’s a break? Something different. If you’ve been working on a project, do some filing or answer emails. Take a short walk. Chat with a friend. Read. Something different.
