Think of it as the Ed Koch Rule. That irrepressible Mayor of New York went around the streets asking people, “How am I doing?” If you ask that question, you just might learn something important.
This is a three-step process. The first step is to ask for feedback.
Step two is to say, “Thank you.” Do not argue. Do not dispute. Do not defend. Say, “Thank you.”
Step three is to process what you’ve heard and make appropriate changes.
