The week is the ideal assessment period for most bosses. It’s long enough to allow for some rough spots but short enough to catch problems early. So, before you begin your weekend, ask these three questions.
How did we do? Assess team and team member performance. What problems popped up? What successes did we have? Did we make progress?
How are we doing? Compare where you are to where you should be to hit longer-term performance targets. Think about how individual team members are developing.
What should we do? Determine the most important things to do, say, and achieve next week.
