What I’m Reading Now: Bedtime Stories for Managers

  |   Books Print Friendly and PDF

I usually avoid collections of blog posts, but I’m reading Henry Mintzberg’s collection, Bedtime Stories for Managers. I usually wait till a book’s been out for several months before I review it. This book was published only two months ago.

I bought a copy of Bedtime Stories for Managers because I like the way Mintzberg writes. He’s a contrarian when it comes to a lot of management thought. I share his skepticism about “lofty leadership.” I disagree with many of his opinions. All in all, though, Mintzberg inspires me to put the book down, or look away from the screen, and think about what he says. That’s a rare talent indeed. I expect to enjoy the book.

Have you read this book? What did you think of it?
