Book Review Short Take: Executive Presence post image

There are, conservatively, 300 gazillion books published every year. No one has the time to list them, let alone read them or review them. That’s a problem because there’s a lot of value in many books you may not hear about because of the clutter.

“Short Takes” is my humble effort to cut through the clutter and highlight business books that might be perfect for your next read. Here’s why I think Joel Garfinkle’s book, Executive Presence: Step Into Your Power, Convey Confidence, & Lead With Conviction might be a good choice for you.

Historian James MacGregor Burns said that leadership, “is one of the most observed and least understood phenomena on earth.” He could have been talking about executive presence.

If you want to ascend the corporate ladder or have people pay special attention to your words, executive presence is important. The question is: “How do you develop executive presence?”

That’s the subject of Joel Garfinkle’s latest book. I’ve followed Joel’s work for years. He has excellent credentials as a top executive coach. But what impressed me most is his ability to develop a unique perspective on a topic and boil his advice down to behaviors.

If you want to develop your executive presence, Joel’s new book just might be the perfect read for you.

Here’s a link to an article he wrote for SmartBrief on Leadership about the book.
