New Book Makes Learning Key Leadership Concepts almost Effortless

If you're responsible for the performance of a group, Wally Bock's latest book, Performance Talk: The One-on-One Part of Leadership, will help you learn key leadership concepts almost effortlessly.

Performance Talk has just been released by Booksurge Publishing. It's actually two books in one.

The first two thirds of the book tell the story of a fictional character named Karen, a newly promoted manager, and how she learns about the one-on-one parts of her job. The story format makes learning the key points almost effortless and the book can be read in an evening.

The final third of the book provides reminders and resources for each story chapter. Readers can quickly review key points and discover more resources they can use for their own personal leadership learning.

The book is supported by the Performance Talk web site where readers will find the updated versions of the resource list. They'll discover other resources as well.

Author Wally Bock says that these features are important, because most managers get no training in the hardest part of their job: talking to subordinates about performance. Bock says that leadership is an apprentice trade: new leaders learn some basic concepts and then apply them on the job.
